Takashi Murakami

Murakami’s most recognizable work is his stylistic spin on the Louis Vuitton pattern which you can see on $5,000 hands bags, $5 Chinatown wallets, and badly ripped off on Escalades rolling through Miami. His style springs from an infusion of Japanese Otaku culture which worships Manga (Comic Books) and western pop art from Lichtenstein to Warhol. He call it Potaku, pop+otaku. If you’re a fan of pop, fashion, or anything japanese this is a show not to miss. It will be at the Gagosian Gallery until this Saturday, June 9th.980 Madison Ave (Between the Met and the Whitney)
