Two good openings on one night. In the left corner No Sleep to Bushwick featuring Bast, Aiko ([update: formerly] from Faile), and Skewville. In the right corner, Four Artists: work by recent Pratt alumni: Swoon, Fay Ku, Rossana Martinez, and Jean Shin.

Alright alright, so Swoon is the only ‘urban artist’ in that fray but what a good title, I couldn’t help myself. They’re both going to be dope shows. The Pratt show will be more varied with painting, sculpture, and mixed media in the West Village. The Bushwick show is going to be the raw street style we know and love. There is no doubt that Aiko will bring it for the second week in a row, the LES Faile show was one of the best openings I’ve been to this year. She has been collaborating with Bast for years now. He truly does it for the sake of having his work seen. It’s raw and honest to a point that makes you shut up and stop using terms like the ‘human condition.’ Can you do both? L train party.
