How are these two connected? Other than the sheer fun factor, Best Fwends was recently added to the Friday Matt & Kim show in Bushwick as a DJ/MC opener or perhaps closer? This is in addition to the FREE show that Best Fwends (I feel wierd even typing it, let alone saying it) will be playing on Bedford at 10th St. Jelly NYC, organizers of the free Sunday shows at McCarren pool, will have a stage set up on the street with local bands Oxford Collapse and Cheeseburger also playing from 6pm to 10pm.

Then Friday night ride over to the Matt & Kim show at Above the Auto Garage (600 Bushwick Ave @ Jefferson). I don’t even know if this is a real venue or just some industrial space they found but I don’t care. I’ll be there. They had a riotous show at Bowery Ballroom a few months ago that featured constant stage diving throughout their entire performance. After years in the crowd I was even compelled to leap off the stage myself and crowd surf for a good chunk YEAH YEAH. Professor Murder opened up for them that night and whipped the crowd into a frenzy. If you want to hear some good new music catch any of the above mentioned bands. Matt & Kim video after the cut.
