PS1 Warms Up with the DFA DJs

PS1

Summer is here and with it come all of those summer parties and shows that keep us outside. Grabs your shades, some of the best people watching in the world is in your backyard.

P.S.1, the MoMA’s Long Island City satellite, had some of the best Saturday afternoons of last summer. I missed every one of them, but that’s not the case this year. DFA records will be playing host at the first Warm Up this Saturday, June 30th. Look forward to sets from Invisible Conga People (live), Tim & Tim (Tim Goldsworthy and Tim Sweeney), Juan Maclean (DJ Set), Shit Robot aka Marcus Lambkin, and BLARVUSTER (Matthew Welch). I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen Juan Maclean or Tim Sweeney this year but I keep going back. Add a dose of the best installation art in town, with a dash of short shorts in the summer heat and you’ve got a reason to sweat your hangover off in Queens.

If you’re looking to pick up a tan and hear some tunes don’t forget that McCarren pool opened up last week and will have Man Man and Illinois this Sunday, Fugiya & Miyagi will play at South Street Seaport next Friday, and Spoon is playing on the 4th 11th of July at Battery Park. Best part… those are all free.
